FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions: - Is this phone like the iPhone?
No, this phone is better than the iPhone! Unlike the iPhone, the M43 comes fully unlocked and ready for use with any network or carrier straight out of the box. You do not need to use any firmware hacks and risk "bricking" the phone. The M43 also has dual SIM and video recording functionality (unlike the iPhone) and doesn't require a firmware update to send/receive MMS messages. - Is this phone like the Chinese HiPhone, APhone, SciPhone and or Chinese touchscreen phones?
No, this is better than all of them. Unlike with other Chinese touchscreen phones, the M43 comes with a full 12-month warranty from Chinavasion along with a professional in-house customer support service. You can also be secure in the knowledge that your M43 has gone through rigorous QC testing before it is shipped direct to you. - This phone has an accelerometer, what exactly is that?
This is a built-in motion sensor that tracks when the electronic device has been tilted or swiveled. It is a feature most commonly used to change images in a photo viewer or to change tracks in an audio player. - How many phone book contacts can this cellphone hold?
This phone can up to 600 contacts. 200 contacts for each of the two SIM cards, and another 200 in the phone memory itself. - How long should I charge the battery before first use?
Before you use the battery for the first time, please charge it for 12 hours. - Can I change the ringtone on this cellphone?
This phone comes with 10 default ring tones featuring famous songs like the Theme from Mission Impossible and The Pachelbel Canon. Or you can easily use your own music track as a ring tone. Better yet, use the sound recorder function to record your own voice and use that as your ringtone. - What is the purpose of the rotating touchscreen?
A rotating touchscreen is convenient if you want to take pictures of yourself and by twisting and laying it flat, you can transform this unit into a iPhone-type mobile phone. - It says this cellphone comes in polished black. What does that mean?
To get a sense of polished black think about a black grand piano and how the wood finish looks like. That's polished black. - How do I record phone conversations with this phone?
While you are in conversation, the menu will display a record option. Once you're done recording, simply activate the sound recorder program and play the file you just recorded. - Should I load MP3's or WAV music files into my phone to listen to?
It's a trade off really. With MP3's, you get lower audio quality, but because of its small file size you can fit more into memory. With WAV files, you get CD quality music, but on average, one WAV file is equivalent in size to ten MP3 files.

Visit Grand Cameras for more great camera choices!
I am a camera nut! I have been collecting antique and vintage cameras for years, and get no greater pleasure than producing some great prints from a camera that is older than my long gone grandfather!
Digital cameras are handy and hold a lot of pictures. I find them very useful and like the fact that I can snap a thousand pictures on my new point-and-shoot without really caring whether it's going to be a great picture or not. But there's something special about putting a fresh, new roll of film into a camera and going out to take some well thought out and carefully arranged picture. (Of course, these days, I get my film pictures put on CD as well as printed, so I can show them off to my friends on the WWW!)
I think I've taken thousands of pictures on box cameras (620, 120, 127, etc.) and many thousands more on a manual 35mm SLR. My wife and I bought our first brand new Minolta SRT200 in 1978. What a great, great, solid camera! It's been dropped and banged around for years on camping trips, hikes, vacations, boat trips, and what have you, and still works just great with the original lens and flash with only a few small dings on the body and outer ring on the lens. It still LOOKS great, except for the small dings.
Another favorite of mine is my Retina IIIc Rangefinder. It takes a little more time to use than an SLR, but takes great pictures, and I really like the wide angle lens for landscapes. You can say what you want about Kodak, but they've put out some really great cameras over the years. That Retina is from the 50's and still works and looks just as well as the day it first came off the line.
eBay has been a tremendous amount of fun for me. Not only is it a great place to sell cameras (naturally, I sell cameras - I love 'em!), but it's also a great place for me to buy a camera that catches my eye so I can hold it in my hands, snap some pictures with it, and then display it or pass it on to another happy owner at a later date.
Every camera I sell here has been personally tested by me. I don't measure shutter speeds with a fancy meter or anything like that, but I've taken a lot of pictures with a lot of cameras and have a pretty good ear for what's working well and what's not. Furthermore, when I get a vintage camera (or even a brand new one) into my hands, I expect to have a learning experience with it as I come to understand all the nuances of that particular camera. Every one of them is different, no matter what anyone may say, and light is a funny thing. What works for one camera on one setting will not necessarily work the same on the next. That's a big part of the fun of photography!
The digital world DOES offer some great gadgets, and I'm constantly digging them up, too. I like the fact that I can now store all my film photos digitally on many different devices, and show them to my friends seconds after via the internet or a digital cellphone! I can store thousands of photos on a tiny little memory stick, then go to my photo store or to my inkjet printer and print out beautiful prints of my best pictures any time I want! Come back often for the latest electronic gadget and, of course, to see another great old vintage camera or lens!
