City and Colour is the solo side project of Alexisonfire vocalist and guitarist Dallas Green. The Juno award-winning singer-songwriter hails from St. Catharines, Ontario and founded post-hardcore band Alexisonfire in 2001. The band’s feverish live shows and rabid fanbase quickly earned them the distinction of being one of the most exciting and talked about bands in Canada.
During time off between tours Green assembled a collection of songs he had been writing over the years and in 2005 quietly debuted his full-length album titled Sometimes, under the solo moniker City and Colour. The name was derived from Green’s own name - Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. The critically-acclaimed Sometimes achieved Platinum certification. City and Colour have won numerous awards, including a MuchMusic video Award for “People’s Choice-Favourite Canadian Artist. City and Colour released their sophomore album, Bring Me Your Love, to rave reviews with album guest appearances by Gord Downie (The Tragically Hip) and Dan Romano and Spencer Burton (Attack in Black). City and Colour play the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre with Tegan and Sara on Saturday August 28th.
