Artic Cat Drag/Racing 1129cc Thundercat Insane 240+ HP tricked out
The body of this sled is a 2000 Artic Cat Thundercat 1129 cc
There is no part of the motor that retains the factory numbers.
Built by Doc Fangs performance out of Clarkston, MI, the motor in this sled has won many titles and even a few state records. The only way I can describe it is insane!
Over 240hp naturally aspirated, this thing sounds like a top fuel dragster.
Ported, polished heads, bored cylinders, 48mm carbs in perfect tune with D&D power pipes. Performance throttle bodies, clutch that is even matched up with a carbon fiber drive belt. We have put an extended (144") speed track with chisels for ice racing because the stock length would just spin and chew holes in the ice.
With all these mods you might think it's one of those sleds where you have to start it right before you hit the starting line and then let it cool down after. Nope, trail ride her all day and the pipes are still cool to the touch.
The only thing that could do more justice to this machine than the pictures is the sound of the motor itself. Anyone who attended the Richmond winter fest can attest to that. Not the best showing there. The track was more for snow paddles. I spent the length of the track spinning my wheels so to speak.
Before you think about the price being high for an older sled, consider what this thing must have cost to build and tune to what it is today. Consider this, a new Artic Cat 1100 turbo comes stock with 177hp to the tune of 11-12k Then, if you want the stage 2 or 3 racing kit plus studs or chisels you are talking $$$ and this sled will still smoke it.
