1984 John Deere Sprintfire 340cc liquid cooled snowmobile for sale.

This sled features a brand new windshield, a new seat cover, a fresh tune up, full carburetor cleaning, and it starts and runs. This is an extremely rare sled as it was from the very last year of production for John Deere. In fact, this is only 1 of 288 total Sprintfires produced in 1984.

This sled is in good condition, but it could use some restoration to be show quality. The tunnel decals should be replaced. The crank seals should be replaced if you wanted to do some trail riding as the idle is inconsistent and it idles up when I spray carb cleaner near the clutch shaft coming out of the motor. The hood does have some cracks and some scuffs in it, but it shines really nice reflecting a lifetime of indoor storage. The skis are like new and the motor compartment is fairly clean. There is even a spare belt under the hood. Overall, I would rate it a 7/10 in condition.

This is not a perfect sled.  It has handwarmers, but I don't think they work.  The brake light does not work, but all the other lights seem to work fine.  The track shows some moderate wear which one would expect from a sled with this mileage.

If you are looking for a super rare sled to restore and collect, this would be a great machine to add to your collection.  The way the vintage craze is going on, I would only expect this machine to appreciate in value as time goes on.

For shipping purposes, I am located two hours northwest of Madison. I am not a John Deere expert so if you see some obvious flaws, feel free to point them out and I will post them here.  Please look at the pictures carefully.  I have provided lots of them to reflect the true condition of the machine.

Some Important Bidding Notes:
  • I prefer the machine is paid for with cash when you come to pick it up.  A deposit paid via PayPal is fine.
  • Winning bidder must pick up the sled - I will not ship.  I will assist you as much as I can with your shipper.
  • I will deliver this sled on an open two place snowmobile trailer for $1.50 a loaded mile, one way.  This delivery cost must be paid for prior to delivery and is not refundable.
  • This sled must be paid for within 7 days and picked up within 21 days.
