ca1860 canadian folk art carved, painted bible book box

Well...there it is. One great folk art bible book box. I house picked this one myself. The box comes with a bit of historic backround info. Family name dating back to the 1800's and the location of the old house it was found in. Of course to the new owner only. I believe this piece is from approx. 1860. Could be even a bit older. I don't know my woods that well but I am going to guess butternut (lighter coloured). The measurements are 9 inches long, 5inches wide and a little over 2 inches deep. The backround colour is ochre, green, that old red you all love and an off white in some of the carved diamonds. Please view my pictures for carving detail. There is a lot of carving detail on this one. Diamonds, oak leaf, cross, tree of life and chevron type motives. The family's backround is french canadian First Nation Metis. However I found this one in the Upper Ottawa Valley (Ontario, Canada). For condition: excellent with little wear. The colours are bright and strong. The paint is just right. Absolutely no repairs, no touch-ups and most definitly no wax. 100% as found original condition. The buyer can pick up the box at my home or have it delivered by UPS, FedEx or Canada Post.
