I am selling a European Welte Mignon "Red Roll" Vorsetzer, as well as pictures of this Vorsetzer. It has never been restored, and has miraculously remained in virtually mint condition over the past 100 years. It comes with close to 100 rolls, both originals and the top quality recuts that Thomas Janssen in Germany has made available. In addition, modern technology has made this Vorsetzer able to also work on modern MIDI files that are stored on computers. This means that you can now own practically the entire Welte library, which contains thousands of historic piano performances by Debussy, Grieg, Mahler, Scriabine, and many other famous composers and pianists. This MIDI device can be easily installed in the Vorsetzer without any permanent changes being made, and easily removed without any evidence that it was ever there. Vorsetzers also have two other advantages over Reproducing Pianos. The first advantage is that this Vorsetzer can play any standard piano, from a concert grand to an upright piano. The second advantage is that Vorsetzers have a wider dynamic range than Reproducing Pianos. The reason for this is that the Vorsetzer has relatively large pneumatic bellows that play the notes. Reproducing Pianos have to make the bellows small enough to fit into a piano case, and the tiny bellows cannot hit the hammers against the strings as hard, or as loud, as a Vorsetzer can.
Ebay's policies do not allow me to advertize an expensive machine like this for many weeks. The price is $12,900.00 and it is located in NYC. Instead, this ad is for pictures of the Vorsetzer that you can see on this website. I am not really looking to sell any photos, but pricing the photos for .99 cents allows me to put this ad on Ebay so it can run for many weeks and be read by a wide audience.
