This
wonderful piece of jewelry has come from the best Estate Collection of
Modern Jewelry that I have been lucky enough to acquire. The previous
owner traveled extensively. She purchased literally hundreds of pieces
jewelry between the 1940's and the 1980's locally and from many
different parts of the world. Recently, additional items were made available by Estate. I
was told that many of these now vintage pieces initially cost in the
hundreds of dollars and a few even cost more. Many of the pieces are
designer or artisan signed but some are not. Have not had the time to
research them all. Can't identify some of the marks but many are
exquisitely made, extremely beautiful, unique and truly one-of-a-kind.
All are now going to be individually listed on eBAY without reserve and
starting at an incredibly low opening bid. Love to combine items for
shipping to help save on the cost. Thanks for looking and good luck if
you decide to bid. THE ITEM's DESCRIPTION:

century circa 1960's-1970's sterling silver artisan designed

PROVENANCE: A short history of the woman who previously owned this item: The Estate will not let me release her name but you may find this information interesting and possibly useful. I believe the previous owner of this item was born in CANADA but I am not absolutely certain. She lived in CANADA most of her life but traveled extensively. As a young woman she studied at a school in Paris which was owned by a friend of Picasso. She even had class lessons from the master Picasso himself during that time. She also attended OCA in CANADA and held an OSA designation. She attended one of Hans Hoffman's famous workshops and often spoke of the De Kooning exhibition she attended in New York where she met the artist. She fell in love with an American man from New York City. She was a painter and he was more involved with metal, sculptural & the plastic arts. He eventually did not follow his artistic talents and made his money in the business world. They knew many American jewelry arts craftspeople and were friends of Ed Levin. Ed Levin made their wedding rings. In Canada, she painted but never to my knowledge had a solo exhibition. She never became a commercial success but her husband became wealthy through his business ventures. She was a close friend of Canadian artist Joyce Wieland and did collaborate with her. She often spoke of their close friendship with Michael Snow. Her circle of artistic associates in CANADA included Graham Coughtry, Gordon Rayner and Jack Chambers. She along with her husband also met and became friends with American sculptor Tony Rosenthal while in Hawaii on holidays. She loved jewelry and spent as much time collecting and buying jewelry as she did painting. As she got older, she focused on collecting artisan jewelry, supporting local craftspeople & charities. Unfortunately, she let her painting fall to the wayside. She was a larger than life type character and had an excellent well developed artistic eye when it came to selecting the jewelry she acquired. She passed on just over a year or so ago. YOU HAVE AGREED TO THE FOLLOWING PURCHASE TERMS & CONDITIONS BY BIDDING ON THIS ITEM:
