You are bidding on a Thule 400 Aero Foot Pack Roof Rack that is ready to go! This rack is in good condition. The towers and are all in good shape with just a little sun fading and a tiny bit of paint chipping at the tops where the load bars are held by the metal straps. There is no rust or load bar swelling and the load bars are 50" long. They do have some impressions that do not affect function at all from previous attachments. The end caps are all in intact with no cracking or splitting. The fairing is 43" wide and is the 555 model. It's in good shape with no cracks or major gouges, etc.- just a few surface scratches. This rack has lots and lots of life in it. If you are willing to give it a good home, I'm sure it'll work well for you!
Here is my educational piece...these are 400 Aero feet, not actual 400xt. There is NO difference in the base of these two models. The 400xt uses the exact same base, but has an oober cool plastic housing that covers the tower. The problem with this, is the oober cool housing has a design flaw...in my opinion. There is about a 1/4" strip across the back of the housing that holds it in place over the tower. This often cracks or breaks. When it does this, it starts to rattle...not so oober cool. Anyway, just to let you know the differences and the pros and cons of the 400 vs. the 400xt. Otherwise, they use the same fit kits, etc. and mount exactly the same...the 400xt's are just newer and have that housing for aesthetics.
Please note, all the 400 foot packs require corresponding fit kits to fit your car specifically. Almost every car model requires a different number. For this reason, I do not include them in my auctions, but I do list them separately and am always happy to ship the clips for no additional charge with the purchase of the rack if you use Buy it Now on a fit kit. The 400's, 400xt's and 400xtr's all use the same fit kits, so no worries there.
Also, people are usually looking for roof racks for specific purposes, i.e. hauling skis, snowboards, bicycles, kayaks, etc. I generally list seasonally appropriate items and you can always check my listings for other components. If you don't see what you are looking for, or you are looking for a bike rack in winter or a ski rack in summer, etc., please shoot me an email, as I generally have a pretty good of off season stock on hand, as well. Again, I'm always happy to combine shipping.
I use FedEx for shipping, since I have not had good luck with UPS service due to the odd shape and weight distributions of these racks. The pricing is very similar, so when choosing UPS ground for shipping, it will actually be FedEx ground. Also, I am happy to ship to other countries, but FedEx does not collect duties. Therefore, because of troubles collecting these from buyers (almost 80% of buyers haven't paid ;0( I am forced to use the more expensive US Postal Service who will collect those duties for me. Shipping is a little higher on this item due to the length of the load bars...but is still listed flat rate, and I have compensated some for the shipping in the Buy It Now price of the item.
Please buy with confidence and feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase! I accept returns on a case by case basis, as I do my best to list accurate and correct information and am prompt at returning answers to questions, so do require that you be sure about your purchase before bidding.
Thanks for looking and good luck!
