OTTO LINK 4**** TENOR SAX MOUTHPIECE

Up for sale a very vintage Otto Link "4****" model in a very playable 0.075" opening (same as a standard 5*).

This was bought from 10mfan and, as you know, he carefully selects what he sells to keep his reputation in the sax community. 

The opening may seem narrow to some but I ensure you that, give the very large chamber (or "true large chamber" as called by Theo Wanne) it comes handy and plenty of volume also a 5* facing like this.

The 4**** model was introduced in 1935  and was played, among many others, by Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins. Among living players, Scott Hamilton and Harry Allen use this one. If you like the warm sound of all of those, while I am not saying that playing this mouthpiece will get you exactly there, it will get you surely closer than playing anything in the modern mouthpieces production. 

Easy subtoning, warm, rich sound which can get "velvety": that is how I would describe this mouthpiece. 

Comes with a ligature which is surely not original but works well. It fits many other ligatures and I tend to play it with a Brancher Leggerio.

You will not be disappointed by this one. I am also selling an Early Babbitt Florida: these are my very last Otto Link I have for sale (I owned and sold many), as I am now quite settled on Zagar mouthpieces.

I see the usual web stores asking between 600 and 800$ also for non-refaced version of those. They are not easy to find and sell for big bucks for a reason.
