This alto trombone has been manufactured at the Shires’ shop in Massachussets, USA. It’s been all handmade and soundtested by the owner of the shop, Steve Shires.

 

A careful attention is given to every instrument made by Shires.

 

Soundwise, this alto gives a warm and flexible tone. It is really like a human voice…there is a lot of harmonics in the sound and it is a very centered horn.

 

Key of Eb…7 positions…485- .495 dual bore slide…..7 ” hand engraved bell…..

2 additional leadpipes.

*** tuning mechanism incorporated into the handslide***

 

Shires trombone usually come without a case, but

I will include a new black nylon trombone gig bag.

I will also provide a specific cleaning guide.
