The hits poured from Jay & The Americans and they were so popular that they opened for the Beatles when they toured America. One listen to Jay’s magnificent voice on Cara, Mia and you’ll agree he owned the best vocals in all of pop music. If you saw him on a recent PBS oldies special, you know he’s still got the chops. (Trivia: his real first name is David but when he replaced Jay Traynor, the group was already known as Jay & the Americans.)

Jay & The Americans The Complete United Artists Singles 3 CD set collects 66 tracks - That’s the A and B-side of every single in their original mono single mixes, virtually none of which have appeared on CD, all remastered from the original single master tapes that have laid dormant for decades, plus two promo-only tracks. Ed Osborne produced and annotated the set, and got quotes from Americans Sandy Deanne (Yaguda), Marty Sanders and Kenny Vance (Rosenberg). Single sleeves and photos round out the booklet.
