Contains 23 colored pages of  Italian cross stitch patterns and instructions in PDF file format.  The patterns print size is 8.5" x 11". You can also zoom in selected patterns and using the "print current view" option to print the designs at enlarged or reduced sizes for your project.
 

Here's a little history on Assisi Embroidery:

Assisi Embroidery is named after the Italian town of Assisi where it is said to have originated, birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi.  Examples of Assisi Embroidery have been found on tapestries from as far back as the 13th and 14th century.

 In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries monastic embroideries developed an elegant style where designs and motifs were voided on fine linen cloth with the outlines and background embroidered in colored silk. Motifs were strongly influenced by traditional designs of bird or animal pairs surrounded by elaborate scrollwork. These early articles were most often used for religious purposes e.g. altar cloths and chasubles.
