This is a rare opportunity for you to own an ORIGINAL, one-of-a-kind painting by St. FX Football Coach, Gary Waterman. All proceeds from the sale of this painting will go to The Kidney Foundation of Canada so that the Foundation can continue to fund much needed kidney research and improve the lives of people living with kidney disease.
Gary Waterman is in his 4th season with X-Men football. For the past three seasons Gary has been the defensive co-ordinator with StFX, and in 2009 Gary took on a new role as the Head Football Coach at St. Francis Xavier University. The hiring of Gary Waterman marks the first time in StFX history that an alumnus will lead the X-Men football team.
Gary’s background in coaching began 16 years ago at Father Michael Goetz High School in Mississauga. During his time at Father Michael Goetz he served as a Head Coach, offensive co-ordinator and special teams coach. He was also head coach of the basketball and track and field teams.
During Gary’s time as defensive co-ordinator for the X-Men, his defense has posed some impressive numbers. In 2008, 5 of its members were named as conference All-Stars, as well as one All-Canadian and President’s Trophy Nominee. In recent years, the X-Men defence has been annually recognized as one of the top defences in the country. Gary will serve as the offensive co-ordinator for the 2009 season, where he will work hard in order to achieve the same kind of success.
