With the release of United Breaks Guitars (Songs 1 & 2) in the summer of 2009, Halifax based singer-songwriter, Dave Carroll, took the Internet by storm, becoming one of YouTube's greatest hits and an instant social media darling. His career has rapidly gained momentum as his musical talents receive worldwide recognition. The first two songs of the United Breaks Guitars trilogy has received over 6 million views on YouTube to date and has been nominated for a number of 2009 ECMA and Nova Scotia Music Awards. Song 3 is due to be released in November.
He is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter. Much of his career has been spent as the main songwriter and co-front man (with his brother Don) in the ECMA award-winning band Sons of Maxwell. He has written, recorded and released over 40 original songs on the band's eight CDs, shared in awards and nominations for multiple ECMA and Nova Scotia Music awards and has toured North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Dave's gifted song writing bridges the genres of Pop, Rock, Country and Folk. His vocal style has been compared to James Taylor, Neil Finn, Chris Isaac and Keith.
