This is a rare opportunity for you to own an ORIGINAL, one-of-a-kind painting by UNB hockey star, Daine Todd. All proceeds from the sale of this painting will go to The Kidney Foundation of Canada so that the Foundation can continue to fund much needed kidney research and improve the lives of people living with kidney disease.

Forward Daine Todd was considered UNB's top offensive recruit when he came to campus fresh from the NHL training camp of the Phoenix Coyotes a year ago. Unfortunately he hurt his shoulder in exhibition play against the University of Maine Black Bears and didn't play a single regular season game.

This year "we're very happy where he's at," said UNB head coach Gardiner MacDougall, who tried the five-foot-10, 168-pound native of Red Deer, Alta., at all three forward positions during the V-Reds' nine-game pre-season slate and liked what he saw. "He gives us another dimension," said MacDougall, who liked both his offensive flair and his determination, noting that despite four shoulder operations - two on each, with the right one going under the knife last January - Todd wasn't reluctant to battle for pucks.

"Tentative would be a word far removed from his vocabulary," said MacDougall. "He's not a perimeter player. He likes to get into traffic and drive the net. It was good to see."
