1964 --     Circulo de Bellas Artes.
( The CBA was founded in 1880.  Among notable characters relevant to
the social and cultural life of the early twentieth century who passed
it's board of institution:  Nobel Prize winner Jacinto Benavente,
comediógrafo Carlos Arniches.  The young Picasso and Ramon
Maria del Valle-Inclan attended painting classes here.)  
Many of Nicholas Delgado's works reflect influences from the CBA
as they did his contemporaries.

1965 --     Premier.  Carnival Havana.

1972 --      Sala Talia art Collective participant.  Exhibited March 13.

1973 --     Cuaderno sobre temas de Arquitectura para la Universidad de
        La Habana. (Notes on Architecture.)

1977-        Fotorreportero Agencia de Noticias A.D.N.
1981

1984        Expo Experimental y Taller (Experimental workshop).  Palacio
        Central de Pioneros,  La Habana.

1984        Festival Musica Electroacustica, con proyeccion de
        diapositiva (transparency).  Delgado's work was
        projected for these shows.  Juan Blanco, Paris, Rotterdam.

1984-        Feria Exposicion y Libros (Exposition & book fair).  
1986        Expo Laipzig, Varsovia, Sofia, Argel y Tunis.

1986-        Escenografia para la obra 'Bano de mar'.  Delgado
        painted the elaborate set for 'Bano de Mar' for
        Grupo Rita Montaner.  Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Nicholas Delgado, originally a photographer, began painting in the late fifties.
In short order his work was premiered at Bellas Artes in 1961.
Since then his prolific output has been gobbled up by museums and private collections alike.
However, restrictions by the Cuban government have led to a degree of isolation and he appears
to have little interest in self promotion, merely selling paintings from time to time
to curious tourists and shard eyed collectors.
His prices have not changed for years, although many dealers have done well with his artwork.
Now seventy two years old, Delgados health is failing and he is parting with paintings
which have been in his studio for many years.

Further to note that with changes in the political and economic atmosphere, collectible
Cuban Art is becoming increasingly attractive and is destined to become significantly more expensive.
This is a very good time to invest in Cuban Art history.

derelection and the consciousness of a youthful populace mixed from Spanish and African
slave ancestry.
